Dead Queer Kids Don’t Go to Heaven stems from my anger and pain surrounding the loss of LGBTQ youth to suicide. In this piece, glowing spirits of teens and kids wander through a dark forest, each one sharing their final thoughts before disappearing. But their disappearance doesn’t mean they’re gone—they exist in a digital limbo, a space I’ve created for them because they’re too good for heaven, a place filled with those who hated them in life.
The project is built using Unreal Engine, allowing me to create an immersive and emotionally charged environment. The Project is not yet finished, still on-going. Collaborators are welcomed.
These kids are not forgotten. They live on in the memories of those who care, in this limbo where they are still seen, still heard, and still present. This piece refuses to let them be erased, creating a space for them to exist in a way that society never allowed.
